Sack of Lithuanian women eating lettuce & squishing ass

DIAGRAM 8.3 All Fiction issue is launched now. Read my little story. It has Tom Waits in it a little, kind of. I am seeing him play at the Fox on Saturday. Fuck.

Read Amelia Gray's story. It is incredible. Read the others.

Here's a nice interview @ Hobart with YANNICK MURPHY, whose new Dzanc book I have professed love for.

I am moving back into my loft this weekend now for sure. Four months of displacement over. Energy shift. Krusherz.

Here is the only passage I underlined in AS I LAY DYING when I read it the first time in 11th grade:

In a strange room you must empty yourself for sleep. And before you are emptied for sleep, what are you. And when you are emptied for sleep, you are not. And when you are filled with sleep, you never were. I dont know what I am. I dont know if I am or not.

your stories are fucking amazing.

great job!

thank you josh and alex

we should all group reread faulkner

faulkner is probably the one thing i was made to read in high school i should have paid more attention to. they hoist so much shit at you it's hard to take it seriously

i want to form the 'read barry hannah and gary lutz in schools' lobby

we will storm the bastille with sprayguns and abstruse adverbs tattooed on our foreheads

then kids will grow up scared more and wont't fuck so much or maybe will fuck more and better

My all-time favorite hyphenated phrase:

I've reread As I Lay Dying so many times that I eventually underlined every line.

Josh Maday said...

no kidding. i think that that eventually happens with almost any faulkner you read over and over. i would be settle for just a touch of whatever linguistic madness inhabited his brain.
